Julia joined Science Club for Girls in 2010 as the Lawrence Site Coordinator. She leads programming at Esperanza Academy and Lawrence Community Works, in addition to developing and piloting environmental education curriculum with Science Club for Girls. She also coordinates the Junior Mentor leadership program for high school students in and around Lawrence.

Originally from Chicago, Julia has also studied and worked in Alabama and Ecuador. She earned her B.A. in International Environmental Studies and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is currently a candidate for an M.S. in Environmental Education. Strike up a conversation with Julia in Spanish or Portuguese, since she loves to learn about different cultures.

Julia has worked in youth development for five years, and is excited to offer inquiry-based science clubs around Boston. Outside of science programs, you can find Julia rock climbing, hiking, or exploring the coasts of New England!
