Devin joined Science Club in August 2011 as the Highland Street Corps Ambassadors of Mentoring (AmeriCorps). She is developing and piloting a teen mentoring program matching women with advanced degrees in math, science and engineering with teen girls that are interested in pursuing these fields. Prior to serving at Science Club for Girls, she was the AmeriCorps Ambassador of Mentoring / Social Media Outreach Coordinator at Boston Partners in Education, where she led the organization's efforts to develop and implement a social media strategy to enhance mentor recruitment, public awareness and branding.
Devin earned a B.A. from Lesley University in Global Studies with a double minor in Sociology and Women's Studies. During her undergraduate career she also interned at the Harvard College Women's Center, where she organized events related to the mission of the Women's Center including a dinner-discussion about feminism and college students, an expert panel about women's health, and a clothing swap/collection to benefit the Bread and Jams Homeless Shelter. In her senior year, she also participated in a service learning project titled 'Girlhood: Identity and Culture' where she developed and implemented media literacy and self-awareness curriculum for sixth-grade girls and team-mentored them with other college-aged women.
