Science Club for Girls welcomed the Brown Rudnick Charitable Foundation to its family of supporters today.
“We are delighted to partner with a foundation that has a long standing interest in improving the education and welfare of children in Boston”, said Joseph Donovan, board member and treasurer of Science Club for Girls (SCFG).
The grant of $15,000 will enable the expansion of Science Clubs for elementary school children in Boston, providing over 120 girls with weekly hands-on science and engineering activities over the school year.
“On average an elementary school child spends less than 2.3 hours in school each week on science instruction, according to a recent report conducted in California public schools”, says Science Club for Girls Executive Director Connie Chow. “Our programs significantly increase the exposure that students have to science learning”, she continued.
