Susan Semedo - "Pebbles"
Susan Semedo is an influential woman in the world of technology. Better known as her
on-air radio personality, Pebbles, Susan has made herself into a widely known role model
for young ladies everywhere today. Along with her beauty and talents many think of
Pebbles as a celebrity.
Pebbles grew up in Wareham, Massachusetts, which helped to jump-start her career as a radio co-host. Growing up, she yearned to be a lawyer, pediatrician and newscaster. Her mother being an office manager and her father being a x-ray technician encouraged Pebbles to be victorious. As a child, she attended a white high school, but being Cape Verdian in this environment did not discourage her in any way, shape, or form. Pebbles says that she always had the attitude to do anything and looked at others, such as boys, as competition. After high school, she was determined to continue her education and chose to attend Northeastern University.
Pebble's first major was engineering and, somewhere along the line, she felt as if that wasn't what she wanted to do. Therefore, she switched to communications as her major and stuck with it. Although it took her six years to graduate from Northeastern because of her major modification, she was motivated to complete college. Pebbles graduated and feels that it is her greatest achievement so far in her life.
Getting into the radio business was a challenge. She never went behind anybody else to become a radio co-host. As Susan was going through college, she needed one more credit to graduate in her last year and got an internship at Northeastern. She worked at WILD in Roxbury, Massachusetts, first as an intern, then as a producer, and then as a morning radio co-host. She enjoyed it so much that she desired to make it her career. Co-hosting a morning radio station is Pebbles current job. She works for JAMN 94.5 in Waltham, Massachusetts from 6:30 to 10:00 in the morning with Ramiero. "I absolutely love my job!" she exclaims with a bright smile on her face.
However, that's not all that puts a smile on this magnificent woman's face. Since she loves to read and feels that it is very significant aspect in life, Pebbles reads to different Boston public schools as part of the Read Boston Program. Her future plans are also great. She hopes to do voice-overs in Disney movies and write children's books. With a great career, caring attitude, and a bright future, Susan "Pebbles" Semedo is a woman who will be on top for many years to come.
