Carmen Crutchfield (she/her)

Program and Evaluation Manager

Carmen Crutchfield grew up by the lake in Saint Paul, Minnesota before moving to Montréal, Canada to pursue a B.S. in biochemistry at McGill University. Her laboratory experience ranges from studying chimeric mice to evolutionary ecology with a focus on cross-feeding bacteria. Carmen marvels at the second law of thermodynamics and how a system as complex as life emerged in a constant battle against disorder. Through her roles at science museums across the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area, Carmen has honed her skills in science communication. Carmen is dedicated to bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and public understanding.

"I am inspired by the work of Danni Washington, an ocean advocate and the first African American/woman of color to host an American science TV show."
