October 11th was International Day of the Girl, a day on which people across the globe celebrate the potential and power of girls—as well as the inequalities and injustices that persist in girls’ lives.
Of course, every day is Day of the Girl at Science Club for Girls! However, we were honored to share a special video message from Tamar, one of our amazing Junior Mentors, who articulates her vision for girls in her community and beyond. Among many other inspirational sentiments Tamar says:
“I envision a future where girls find their self-worth in who they are—our character. We do not find our worth in boys across the street or the models on the screen. We don’t find our worth in the lowest grade on our report cards, but rather, we find our worth in our personalities, in who we are.”
