GET INVOLVED

Support the next generation of diverse women in STEM. SCFG relies on the generosity of supporters like you to maintain, nourish, and grow. Your involvement makes a powerful statement about your commitment to racial and gender equity in STEM.

Mentor

Have you had a great mentor or teacher? Be that role model for a young person in our community and help shape the future of female and gender-expansive STEM professionals. Our mentors (who are undergraduate students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and industry professionals), dedicate two hours a week to building meaningful, bidirectional relationships with participants, Junior Mentors, and fellow volunteers over an 8-week semester.

Our programs provide participants with a supportive community that reinforces their potential and encourages them to explore and pursue STEM. We know that representation matters.  Our participants need role models who look like them and share similar life experiences in order to be able to truly envision themselves in STEM. In other words, they need to see it to believe it.

Group Volunteers

On occasion, we organize group volunteer sessions so teams can work together to support our operations. Group volunteer activities include furniture building, technology set-up, building robots, organizing supplies, and more! Volunteer shifts are scheduled at our Cambridge office, storage unit on McGrath Highway (Somerville), or occasionally at your office.

To sustain our free programs and ensure equitable access to volunteering, we rely on our corporate partners to underwrite our programs with a $1,000 donation when you volunteer with us. For non-corporate groups, we kindly request a $100 - $1,000 suggested donation per group, based on your capacity to give.

Individual Volunteer

From skills-based volunteering, to helping with supplies and printing jobs, there are many ways you can contribute to SCFG's mission as an individual volunteer.
