​Partnerships and Events Coordinator
Full Time (40 hours per week)
​​​DESCRIPTION​
The Partnerships and Events Coordinator will support the continued growth and expansion of Science Club for Girls’ (SCFG) programs by managing our structured corporate volunteer activities, planning fundraising events, and supporting corporate development activities. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role includes ample room for collaboration with all members of the SCFG team on strategy, creativity, and making a BIG impact on our programs!
The Partnerships and Events Coordinator will oversee our Curriculum Packing Project. This multi-tiered, sponsored corporate volunteer opportunity is essential to our programs and ensures all participants and Mentors can engage in hands-on STEM activities. Local businesses inventory, prepare, and pack curriculum supplies for all 8-weeks of our semester-based Science Clubs. The Partnerships and Events Coordinator is responsible for recruiting Packing Partners, organizing the Packing Events, and overseeing the Packing process in collaboration with the SCFG Program Team.
The Partnerships and Events Coordinator also plays a key role in facilitating sponsor participation in our online TV show, SCFGLive!. SCFGLive! is designed for budding scientists of all ages, with a special focus on grades K-5. We offer multiple levels of sponsorships that allow our corporate sponsors to play a role in the development and filming of the show. In this role, the Partnerships and Events Coordinator will recruit and onboard sponsors and facilitate their involvement with the show’s production team.

Corporate Development

Recruit and retain Corporate Packing Partners to ensure all materials are ready for the start of the semester (Fall and Spring).

Research prospective corporate partnership opportunities.

Facilitate Corporate Volunteer Service days.

Process all documentation including pledge forms, invoices, and payments.

Work with Communications and Marketing Manager to ensure sponsors and corporate volunteers are celebrated and thanked in a timely manner.

Continuously promote additional engagement opportunities for corporate partners and individual volunteers to support continued organizational expansion.

Give Powerpoint presentations via Zoom and at in-person events to recruit partners and educate them on SCFG’s mission and impact.

Event Planning

Organize fundraising events, including donor receptions, community outreach events, and virtual campaigns. Coordinate event logistics, including guests lists, email communications, registration materials, post-program follow-up, as well as serving as vendor liaison.

Support planning of Catalyst Awards Reception, our signature fundraising event.

Recruit, train, and serve as key contact for fundraising event volunteers.

Attend event planning meetings with committee members and vendors.

Serve as primary contact for third party fundraisers and point of sale campaigns.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage data entry, report generation, and gift processing. Ensure Salesforce database records are up to date and accurate. Run, maintain and distribute Salesforce reports as needed.

Represent Science Club for Girls at networking, professional, and other community events as necessary.

Support the work of the Development Team and serve on cross-functional project teams as necessary throughout the organization.

Confirm supply lists with the Senior Program Director, get purchase order approval, place orders, track orders, and confirm delivery to Packing Partners in a timely manner.

Attend organization events and activities.

Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Development.

Be available on occasional nights and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

Non-profit experience, either professional or as a volunteer.

Enthusiastic attitude about bringing new ideas, strategies, and connections to a growing organization.

Ability to be organized and detail oriented, also to track and execute tasks reliably.

Strong interpersonal and relational skills and a commitment to working respectfully with individuals of different races, ethnic groups, socioeconomic backgrounds, and life experiences.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, email marketing applications, and databases/CRM. Salesforce experience preferred.

Ability to work independently and with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Sensitivity, tact, diplomacy, and the ability to honor confidential information.

Commitment to continuous learning through reading mainstream and trade publications and participating in conferences and other educational opportunities.

Prior experience with social justice and/or girl-serving non-profit organizations preferred.

Ability to lift 30+ pounds.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
SCFG is located in Kendall Square, convenient to the Kendall/MIT MBTA station. This position requires on-site work 5 days a week. Occasionally, SCFG participates in organizational or partner related events that occur on weekdays and weekends. The salary range for this position is $58,700-$60,000. Benefits include 401(k), health and dental insurance, 3-weeks paid time off plus one week off at the end of the calendar year, 12 paid holidays, and 6 personal/sick days annually.
