Virtual Summer Rocketry Program
It's Rocket Science.
This summer, Science Club for Girls offered a free, 2-week VIRTUAL Rocket Program to nineteen rising 6 - 9th graders.
Participants built, designed, and launched their own rockets—during in-person, socially-distant field trips—gained leadership skills, and built confidence in STEM in preparation for our Junior Mentor Program.
In addition to building their own rockets, young scientists participated in astronaut physical training, designed moon-based facilities, and met real-life aerospace scientists during an inspiring career panel.
A huge thank you to Nuance Communications and Cambridge STEAM Initiative for funding this program, to Women's Foundation of Boston for making the program a stellar success, and to Aurora Flight Sciences for their volunteer support.
Rocket Camp was a BLAST—we can't wait to offer this opportunity to even more girls next summer!
