Nneoma Oji (she/her)
Program Manager Fellow
Nneoma recently graduated from Harvard College where she studied Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology. She grew up in Brockton, Massachusetts in a large Nigerian-American family. She’s had a love for STEM from a young age, encouraged by supportive teachers and many visits to the Museum of Science. In college, Nneoma mentored with Science Club for Girls and worked as a research assistant in biology labs at the Broad and Mass General Hospital. Nneoma is very excited to return to SCFG as a Program Manager Fellow. She has a huge passion for children’s education and supporting young women’s development. She wants every young girl to know that science and math can be fun and for anyone!
Two scientists I admire are Dr. Patricia Bath and Dr. Mamie Phipps Clark. Dr. Bath invented laser cataract surgery and was the first Black woman in the US to receive a medical patent. Dr. Clark studied segregation’s influence on self-consciousness in Black children and is known for her famous Doll Study, cited in Brown v. Board of Education.
