We are excited to introduce you to three new members of our team who joined us this past January!
Carla Dos Santos joined the Science Club for Girl's program team for the 2021 calendar year as the WFB Program Intern. This new position is funded by the Women's Foundation of Boston. Carla supports our virtual clubs by recruiting participants, developing instructional curriculum videos for our mentors, as well as serving as a mentor herself for her third semester! She is currently studying Biological Sciences at Bunkerhill Community College and seeks to pursue a career in the medical field one day.
Anicia Miller joined the SCFG team for the 2021 calendar year as the WFB Communications and Outreach Intern, another opportunity made possible through the generous support of the Women's Foundation of Boston. Anicia supports our communication efforts by creating content for our social media as well as for our monthly e-newsletter so that everyone stays in the loop on all great things happening at Science Club! This spring semester is Anicia's second term volunteering as a mentor for our clubs. She is currently a first year at Harvard University pursuing a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and a Language Citation in American Sign Language.
Nimisha Thakkar joined our team for the Spring 2021 semester as a Programs Intern through UMass Boston's UTeach Program. Nimisha works closely with Carla to develop curriculum videos explaining experiments for our mentors. She is also the newest star on #SCFGLive, joining Hannah and Dr. Marbles in season 2 of their scientific adventures. You can tune in to the latest episodes every Friday at 4:00PM on our Facebook Page (Facebook.com/SCFGFan) or catch up on old episodes on our website. Nimisha is currently a sophomore at UMass Boston pursuing a B.S. in Information Technology with a Minor in Education.
